Aussie's How to catch a kangaroo CGC
Joey is my introduction into the world of sighthounds and Yadalanh's first Ibizan Hound. He is not an excellent representation of the breed aesthetically and has some faults, but he is mine and means the absolute world to me. He's also been my introduction into lure coursing and we've been having SO much fun practicing out on the course. I'm hoping to achieve some lure coursing titles with him and so far he's a great dog to get started in lure coursing with. I have to say that I'm pretty much hooked on coursing now.
Joey is approximately 4 years old and wire haired. He's 26.5 inches high at the shoulders and around 45 lbs. He still looks the tiniest bit malnourished to me, but he's really been filling out and looks a lot better than he did when I first got him. He's a sweet little guy with a heart of gold and an abundant clownish personality.
He does run a little off in the field. If you pay attention to his back legs in my videos something is definitely off. He's going to be getting x-rays soon though to make sure nothing is wrong and also see a chiropractor if need be. Hopefully he will be cleared as ok and it's something as simple as him just needing to learn to run with a better stride. If not then we will retire from coursing and find a sport better suited to him.
RECENT ACHIEVEMENTS:
August 10 2013: Received his QC at an AKC lure coursing trial at Ft Mott, NJ hosted by the Jersey Rag Racers Whippet Association
August 15 2013: Tested and passed his CGC test
November 17 2013: First win at LGRA straight racing event in Hydes, MD
