YADALANH bEDROCK n' rOLL "bAMM"
Bamm came to me when he was close to 2 years old from Harrisonburg SPCA. He's now a whopping 8 years old. He was listed as a border collie/sheltie mix. He definitely is mostly border collie, but I have strong suspicions that he has akita in there somewhere. He's approximately 21-22" tall and weighs about 45 lbs.
Bamm is the first dog I've owned out on my own and he's been an incredible challenge and learning experience for me. He's an amazing dog and incredibly smart, but struggles with dog reactivity and some people reactivity/aggression issues. We are working on this though and while I've seen tremendous improvement in some areas, I've seen some relapsing in his issues with people. This may be partly related to him aging and the plan is to see a behaviorist and get him checked out medically to figure out what is going on with him.
We mainly train trick dog stuff for fun, but Bamm has recently shown interest in doing disc so we may be messing around more with disc work in the near future. I've never done disc though so this will be something super new to us and it may just be for fun. He's slowing down a little bit in his age and with his dog reactivity I'm a little hesitant to try competition disc with him. Who knows though. He may prove to be an awesome disc dog, but more than likely this will just be something we do for fun at home.
